Quality Control
Quality Control of Pre-Painted Sheets
at Arand Lenjan Steel
Where metallurgical engineering meets the art of aesthetics
Leading a revolution in decorative home appliances and modern architecture
At Arand Lenjan Steel we are not content with producing a simple steel product; our mission is to bring about a complete revolution in the decorative home appliance and modern construction industries. By producing PCM pre-painted sheets, VCM laminated sheets and printed sheets, we offer designers and manufacturers a wide range of colors, patterns, textures and surface effects.
Along the way, quality control ensures that the color, texture, gloss and coating quality of the sheet remain precise and consistent from the start of the production line to the final product – a quality that turns different ideas into manufacturable, lasting products.

Raw Material Inspection
The quality of a pre-painted sheet depends on the quality of the base sheet and the raw paint. Before a coil enters the production line, the surface of the galvanized sheet is checked for zinc coating weight, surface roughness and the absence of any white rust or mechanical damage. At the same time, incoming primers and liquid paints are analyzed in the laboratory for viscosity, solids content and homogeneity to ensure they fully comply with the plant’s standards.

Surface Preparation and Chemical Pretreatment Control
Strong paint adhesion to steel requires a grease-free surface. At this stage, quality control engineers continuously monitor chemical concentrations, bath pH and fluid temperature in the degreasing sections. The quality of the conversion coating formed on the sheet surface is then carefully controlled to provide a flawless base for the primer layer.

Online Monitoring of the Coating Line and Oven Curing
The most sensitive part of producing PCM and VCM sheets is applying the paint or film and curing it. Along the production line, dry film thickness is measured online with precise sensors to ensure a uniform coating at the specified microns. Curing oven temperatures are also monitored moment by moment to make sure the paint is fully polymerized and the sheet is never under-cured or scorched.

Specialized Laboratory Tests
After cooling, the sheets are sampled and subjected to the strictest laboratory tests: Adhesion and bend test: to guarantee that the paint never cracks or peels during pressing, forming and the production of appliance parts. Chemical resistance test: checking that the paint is fully cured and resistant to solvents. Spectrophotometry and color matching: precise control of the color shade against the standard RAL reference to prevent color variation between different coils. Gloss measurement: measuring the gloss or matte level of the sheet surface.

Final Inspection, Protective Film and Quality Certificate
In the final stage, the surface of the pre-painted sheet is inspected visually and with optical inspection systems for any surface defects (such as spots, scratches or color inconsistency). After final approval and the application of a protective plastic film to prevent damage during transport, a valid quality certificate is issued for the shipment. This certificate includes all technical specifications, layer thicknesses and test results, and is delivered to the customer.

Paint and Polymer Laboratory
Paint and Polymer Laboratory: Advanced infrastructure to guarantee world-class quality
The backbone of the quality control unit at Arand Lenjan Steel is a laboratory equipped with the most modern paint analysis and metallurgy equipment. From precise DFT (dry film thickness) gauges and Salt Spray equipment for simulating severe corrosion conditions, to impact testers and Cupping Test machines – all this infrastructure is available to our experienced engineers. Our products are manufactured to the most respected national and international standards. These facilities ensure our products deliver the highest level of durability, whether on the exterior facade of a modern building exposed to sunlight or on the body of a luxury home appliance.

Product Range
Integrated Oversight Across Our Product Range
Our quality control team applies different standards and protocols to each family of pre-painted products to guarantee optimal performance in their end use:
-
Pre-Painted Sheets (PCM)
Available in various textures and gloss levels, these sheets are widely used in construction, home appliances and HVAC systems. Our quality control focuses on resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, color stability and complete adhesion of the paint to the steel surface.
-
Laminated Sheets (VCM)
This product plays a key role in interior design and the production of luxury home appliances. Our quality tests in this area guarantee resistance to abrasion and scratches and preserve the quality of the laminate texture under the harshest physical conditions.
-
Printed Sheets (Printing)
The unique, distinctive look these sheets give to designs requires microscopic precision in production. At Arand Steel, the three-roll printing process and pattern resolution are strictly monitored so that the final output is a flawless, fade-resistant work of industrial art.
